AI-Assisted Design Prototyping for Gamification Projects

Yana A.UI/UX DesignerConfidentialMarch 2026

A UI/UX designer shares how they independently explored AI tools to accelerate their design process on a gamification project. The biggest practical win was using AI to generate images and start scree

What problem does this solve?

Working as the sole designer on a gamification project, the designer needed to produce high-quality visual assets quickly and generate design inspiration efficiently. Manual creation of assets like start screens was not feasible within project timelines.

How does it work?

AI is used primarily at the inspiration and asset generation stages. The designer uses prompt enhancers to improve the quality of AI-generated images. The workflow is collaborative — AI accelerates the creative exploration phase, but human judgment drives final design decisions.

What's the biggest win?

AI-generated images for start screens and other visual assets saved what would have been months of manual illustration work.

What should I know technically?

No custom integrations. Prompt enhancement is the main technical practice — using external prompt enhancement tools to improve image generation results rather than crafting prompts from scratch.

What are the constraints?

Pricing and credits are the #1 constraint. Figma Make credits run out quickly and getting company approval for subscriptions is slow and can stall projects mid-way. Plan your budget before you start — research tool costs and get approvals in advance.
